Disclaimer
This site displays Google's imagery through Google's API. It is not live, it is not ours, and it should not be relied on for anything that matters.
The imagery is not current
Street View is not a live feed. Every street is a single capture from a single day, and the date ranges from a few months to several years old depending on where you are looking. Satellite imagery is composited from passes taken at different times, so two adjacent tiles can be years apart.
This matters if you are checking a property, a business or a road layout. A shop in the imagery may have closed, a building site may be finished, and a road may have been changed entirely. Google shows the capture date on the imagery, and it is worth reading.
Coverage is uneven and not our doing
Some places have no Street View at all: private roads, many rural areas, and some entire countries. Where coverage is missing, no site can supply it. When you land somewhere uncovered the explorer says so rather than showing a blank panel.
The guides are editorial
The city guides are our own observations about what is worth exploring and why. They are written from the imagery and from published sources, they are not a substitute for a travel guide, and the practical notes about when to visit are general rather than advice.
Coordinates are chosen to land you somewhere useful, and Street View snaps to the nearest photographed point, so you may arrive a short distance from the exact spot named.
Nothing here is advice
Not travel advice, not safety advice, and not advice about property or investment. A street looking pleasant in imagery captured three years ago tells you very little about it today.
